Father Wolf saves the boy, and Mother Wolf takes a liking to him and agrees to raise him in the company of her four cubs. As Mowgli grows, he learns the Laws of the Jungle from Baloo the bear and builds strong bonds with Akela, the Seeonee wolf pack leader and Bagheera, the panther. But Mowgli soon finds himself in trouble. He is abducted by Bandar-log, a tribe of monkeys and a rescue mission gets underway to save him before Shere Khan gets his revenge on him.
